We have a plan to meet our future
needs.
Blessed by significant growth during the past several years, Our Lady of Lourdes launched a Capital Stewardship Campaign on February 9, 2008. After 6 weeks of prayer to discern God's will for our future, over 600 households responded on Easter Sunday, pledging $2.6 million dollars.
Phase 1 of the campaign was focused on purchasing the only available property immediately adjacent to our current site. On July 16, 2008, the purchase was successfully completed. The land cost $2 million dollars. A loan from the Archdiocese of Atlanta provided the balance from the $1.3 million in cash on hand. For the next two years, our focus will be on paying off the loan and raising the monies for our tithe from the campaign to our sister parish, Our Lady of Fatima in LaFosette, Haiti, as well as costs to prepare the land for our eventual use.
Phase 2 of the campaign will develop a plan for building a new church.
